THATTUMPURATH ACHUTHAN

 It has been often said that when someone sincerely worships a God, he or she will be blessed with that God’s characteristics.

Achuthan (Kunchacko Boban), a hard-core devotee of Lord Krishna, often finds himself in trouble because of his good nature and naivety. After landing in soup for lending a helping hand to his friend, a disheartened Achuthan slowly returns to normal life with the help of his villagers and temple priest. It is then that he finds a letter from among the hundi collection at the temple. When the priest tells him that he was destined to resolve the issue mentioned in the letter, Achuthan takes it seriously and sets out on a mission. He is guided also by Kunjoottan (Adish Praveen), a little friend whose dreams often come true. 

If director Lal Jose’s previous outing Velipadinte Pusthakam, did not create ripples, Thattumpurath Achyuthan is bound to make up for it. The maker of enduring films like Meesha Madhavan, Classmates and Chanthu Pottu is back with a bang. This is an engaging, feel-good tale with vibrant visuals and characters that is typical of him. He once again combines well with scribe M Sindhuraj and actor Kunchacko Boban, who made movies such as Pullipulikalum Aatinkuttiyum and Elsamma Enna Aankutty. The choreography of the songs in this film too is as adorable as In his other films which adds to the viewing pleasure. 

Deepankuran Kaithapram's compositions and Roby Varghese Raj's cinematography need special mention as also the acting of Hareesh Kanaran, Kalabhavan Shajon and Nedumudi Venu.

Seems like, Kunchacko, the ageless hero of Mollywood, is here to stay forever. He looks as fresh as in his debut Aniyathipravu. If Ranjith’s Nandanam saw Krishna bestowing happiness in Balamani’s life, here we see Achyuthan turning into Lord Krishna for many people.

In this festival season, Lal Jose, Sindhuraj and Kunchacko Boban are here with a gift hamper filled with love, innocence, music, hope and humanity.
