Badava Rascal HD Released

Badava Rascal is Dhananjaya's first production venture, which made all the with right noises with it unique promotions. There have been a lot of expectations, given that the movie has the right templates to be a commercial family entertainer which caters to the people of all ages. Does it live up to the expectations?

Shankar, is a middle class guy, an MBA graduate, who takes pride in riding autorickshaw owned by his father as he wants to lead an independent life. He enjoys every moment of his life with his bunch of friends and even falls in love with a rich girl Sangeetha. When they decide to take their relationship to next level by getting nod from their parents, Sangeetha asks him to change his profession which Shankar disagrees to. This sets the premise for the interesting second half.

Dhananjaya, who is on a roll this year, continues his golden run with Badava Rascal. He excels in his role as Shankar, which is a very relatable character in urban middle classs families. There are enough fights and mass dialogues for his character which are perfectly placed in the script and will be a treat for his fans . He values relationships, be it as a friend, as a true lover or as a son and gives gyaan to his peers about same, making Shankar a lovable character. His performance stands out especially in romantic sequences with Amrutha Iyengar and in emotional scenes with Rangayana Raghu and Tara.

The performances of Amrutha Iyengar, Nagabhushana and Poornachandra Mysore are worth mentioning too. Tara and Rangayana Raghu are at their best as a parents of Shankar. Preetha Jayaraman does commendable work as the cinematographer. There are plenty of punching dialogues, one liners and double entendres which plays to the gallery. Credit to Vasuki Vaibhav for giving songs like Udupi Hotelu, Aagaga Nenapaguthale and the catchy title track.
