Thavam is primarily a love tale between two childhood friends (played by Pooja Sri and Vasi). The story begins when the movie’s female lead narrates her love story to her fiancé. What follows is a long flashback which has another flashback in it.
Quite sadly, the narration doesn’t engage the viewers in any of the scenes as the characters lack depth. Barring the leads, the other artistes do not leave any impact – the comedy scenes are ineffective, songs become pointless and emotional scenes fail to create empathy.
The antagonist and a twist which comes with his character, too, leave no mark. The film is also a tad long and tests our patience after a point. The staging of some scenes, too, is unappealing which makes things even worse.
